Changing the Fuser Unit

The Fuser unit inside your Oki colour printer fuses the toner to the paper. Changing the fuser is very quick and simple to do

Do it now

Removing old fuser - when the fuser unit reaches the end of its product life, CHANGE FUSER UNIT is displayed in the control panel. Fuser unit life is approximately 80,000 A4 sheets.

1. Switch off the printer and open the top cover

2. Identify the fuser handle (1) on the top of the fuser unit.

3. Push the two small blue fuser retaining levers (2) down to release the fuser unit. The 2 other larger blue levers for are paper jam clearance

4. Holding the fuser by its handle (1), lift the fuser straight up and out of the printer. If the fuser is still warm, place it on a flat surface which will not be damaged by heat.

Installing new fuser

1. Remove the new fuser from its packaging and remove the transit material.

2. Holding the new fuser by its handle, make sure that it is the correct way round. Drop the new fuser into position. The two spring-loaded locking levers (2) will lock the fuser unit into place

3. Remove the retaining tape from the coloured, spring-loaded lever on top of the fuser unit.

4. Close the top cover.

WARNING!

The fuser unit is very hot after printing. Always use the handle when lifting it.
