11/01/2010

Joint project with T-Systems brings commercial savings of approximately €46,000

THE CHALLENGE

As part of an extensive on-site analysis the existing infrastructure was evaluated based on various criteria. This resulted in significant potential for optimization in terms of cost structure, consumable supplies and process efficiency. It was also crucial to evaluate the service levels of the manufacturers.

THE SOLUTION

Together with implementation partner T-Systems, OKI Printing Solutions reduced J.A.Woll Handels Ltd output infrastructure from 162 output systems to 62 printing and multifunction devices in both the head office and over 40 branches, optimising both costs and processes. From initial analysis to implementation the project was successfully completed over a ten week period

J.A.Woll Handels Ltd also benefits from OKI’s comprehensive Next Day service, individual management and control software, as well as free exchange of all maintenance parts.  “The analysis conducted by OKI and T-Systems drew a clear picture of our outputs, the flows andthe total costs. At the same time the concept adapted to our requirements provides concreteoptimization possibilities, which fully convinced us not just from an economic perspective but alsowith a view to improving existing work processes,” says Nils Hansen, CEO of the J.A.Woll Handels Ltd.

THE RESULTS

J.A.Woll headquarters in Soltau and over 40 of their branches are now working with 45 ES2032 colour multifunction systems, 14 B6500 A4 mono printer and three Toshiba colour multifunction systems. All old equipment has been bought by OKI and the customer was compensated.

“The J.A.Woll Handels Ltd is an excellent example of the many added values that our outputmanagement solution offers companies of all sizes and industries," says Edo Neumann, Senior Sales Manager North of OKI Printing Solutions. "As part of our analysis it reinforces again howmuch potential there is left unlocked by medium-sized companies through a non-uniform outputinfrastructure. With our concept, the task of procuring and storing consumables is removed andservice management becomes much easier.

Klaus Retzlaff, Implementation Project Manager, T-Systems currently sees great potential for comprehensive output management concepts in medium sized businesses: “Particularly in the current economic situation SMEs are looking for ways to make their distributioninvestment over several years to release cash flow for their companies. In addition, the integrated analysis tool provides the opportunity for each company to make alloutput costs transparent allowing them to optimise their working processes - a meaningful way topermanently and constructively reduce costs.“

THE FUTURE

It is anticipated that over the next five years J.A.Woll Handels Ltd will have a print volume of 225,000 mono pages and 6,000 colour pages per year which through OKI Print Optimizer will in total save around €46,000.
