OKI printers a safe bet for Hacketts

THE CHALLENGE
Hacketts has focused on using the latest technology to optimise business efficiency and to deliver the best possible customer service.
In line with this approach, the company recently decided to look for a co-ordinated and fully-integrated printing solution that would allow it to create a broad range of colour betting coupons for a range of sports, at its Dublin headquarters. The chosen solution would also be required to help develop in-house marketing and advertising materials, including posters and banners for in-store promotions and would be rolled out as standard across its branch sites.
Hacketts gave careful consideration to a range of vendor offerings. However, following a demonstration, it decided to invest in the ES2632 A4 colour printer from OKI Printing Solutions.
One of the key factors behind OKI’s success in securing the contract was the flexibility of its free in-the-box software utility, Template Manager. Hacketts was quick to see the benefit of using Template Manager to give its promotional material a consistent ‘look and feel’ and to replicate the brand accurately across all sites.
THE SOLUTION
In line with OKI’s ‘Look What You Can Do’ messaging, Hacketts can use the Template Manager software to create materials easily and adapt them as required before emailing them to the relevant sites in PDF format and printing them locally. OKI’s long-standing business partner, Cantec Office Solutions, also played an important role in the success of the deal. Cantec, which has been in business for 13 years, offers nationwide support and service and is seen as a valued supplier partner by OKI.
According to Barry Ryan, IT Consultant at Hacketts, “we were impressed with the honest, transparent approach demonstrated by both OKI and Cantec throughout the sales process and particularly in clearly demonstrating to us the print quality of the OKI solution and the diversity of applications it supports.”
Hacketts has now installed the ES2632 devices in all shops across Ireland.
THE RESULTS
One of the most important benefits Hacketts has achieved from using the OKI printers is enhanced business agility. Odds change constantly within the betting industry and this means that information on the coupons needs to be amended frequently. Using the OKI devices, Hacketts can re-design its coupons and have revised versions printed out across all sites much more quickly than before. And because the OKI solutions deliver consistently high-quality colour output, Hacketts is able to present a highly professional image to its customers.
Another key benefit is that under the terms of the contract, the bookmaker pays a fixed price per copy for its printing. Not only has this proved to be an extremely cost-effective approach but because Hacketts now has complete transparency on all charges relating to the OKI ES2632 devices. It knows exactly how much it is spending every time it prints a colour football coupon or banner sheet, for example.
Hacketts has also been impressed with the reliability of the OKI solutions. “We have found the ES2632 to be a robust business machine” says Ryan. “That said when we have had any issues –the service and support we have received has been of the highest possible standard.”
